I just saw this little blurb float through my system... |remote execution [uucp job osu-cisN63e8 (12/21-14:57:12)] | uucp -C /n/tut/0/ftp/pub/gnu/emacs/18.55/* foghorn!/usr/spool/uucppublic/ |execution permission denied to jcr Once again, quoting from GNU.how-to-get... ---------------- |NOTE: Do not request the files to be transferred using a command like | % uucp osu-cis!~/gnu/emacs/18.55/emacs\* /some/local/directory |because that won't work. That will queue up a short request via *uux* |to run a uucp command on osu-cis; it will fail for security reasons. ---------------- Of course, notwithstanding that wildcards were used in this example (by itself, sufficient for it to fail), the person requested stuff from /n/tut/0/... While that's the real pathname under which stuff like this hides, that's not how you see it from UUCP. Sigh, --Karl
