[comp.sources.d] archives at osu-cis to be trimmed

karl_kleinpaste@cis.ohio-state.edu (07/07/90)

Free disc space on the filesystems where "osu-cis'" archives live is
varyingly quite large or very very tight. One of these, on Tut, is
red-line -- if I were to get a patch tape from the vendor for this
system, I wouldn't have the space in which to install it.

On 16 July, I'm going to do some serious paring back of the stuff
available there. All GNU stuff will remain, but the future of just
about anything else in that filesystem is questionable. If you've
been putting off picking up something there, get it in the next week.

Chill out -- it's just the Usenet.

This is really a shame. Yours is the best all-around archive site
available, the best thing is that it's fairly up-to-date. We just
picked up 2.0GB of drives for $8000, would adding additional drive be
a possibility, rather than zapping archives?
