In the time I have used our copy of RN, I have ended up with LARGE kill files, especially on some of the more active groups. In those cases, I wait a LONG time before the killing process is finished. I was hoping that some similarly "frustrated" RNer had somehow modified the source so that after some preset/configurable number of NULL kills (no articles to kill with that Subject: string), that entry would be removed from the kill file ... leoh@hdw.csd.harris.com Leo Hinds (305)973-5229 Gfx ... gfx ... :-) whfg orpnhfr V "ebg"grq zl fvtangher svyr lbh guvax V nz n creireg ?!!!!!!? ... znlor arkg gvzr

I believe 'nn' has such a construct.
I use gnus and run my kill files in batch so a few extra misses don't bother me.
