I just found out that there is a [at least one] Bitnet site that has a mail server that will ftp files from any ftp-able site, via a mailed batch file, and mail them back to the originator. Is this true? I wish I remembered the site name. Thanks G. I think it's BITFTP@PUCC.BITNET. At least I was able to get archives of the Computer RISKS digest using anonymous FTP in a mail message: ftp CRVAX.sri.com login anonymous cd sys$user2:[risks] get risks-i.j [for some legitimate values of i and j, obviously] quit Hope it works for you. jim =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "The opinions expressed here in no way represent the views of Digital Equipment Corporation." It is also one of the major reasons for the current inoperability of BITNET (at least as far as transatlantic traffic is concerned, since all that ftp-traffic clogs up the network immensly and beyond usability. Therefore, I will not help you remembering the site name, sorry. -- -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- Stefan Momma voicemail:+49-711-121-1431(secret.:-3125,fax:-3500) Projekt Polygloss Internet: momma@informatik.uni-stuttgart.de IMS-CL/IfI-AIS Because-It's-There-NET: nbab1424@ds0rus54 University of Stuttgart ICBMnet : 48 46 36 N; 9 10 48 E; alt 245 m Sneakernet: Keplerstr. 17, D-7000 Stuttgart 1, FRG -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
