Now Rich $alz comes to live again and there is a bug somewhere provoking an incomplete post. Considering the number of requests I have seen on the net about a repost or other me-too postings, I shudder considering the size of Rich $alz's mailbox (and mine is reasonably famous locally). I do not know offhand the number of readers of comp.sources.unix from the arbitron data; but it is large. I expect Rich $alz has received thousands of messages because of this gaffe (perhaps tens of thousands; because apparently not only system administrators respond, but also mere users; and, note, this is a package that should be installed system wide (now if you are the only user...)). Now consider the mailbox of Rich $alz, and compare it to mine (only a mere 2.5 MByte, 170 messages); would you still consider moderating comp.sources.unix? I would already think it a complete task to weed out the real sources from the odd requests from my mailbox! You expect quality from c.s.u, and quality is provided (although there are errors on occasion). And I respect Rich $alz's desire to take off for a month on occasion (what with all that testing, reading mail etc.). -- dik t. winter, cwi, amsterdam, nederland dik@cwi.nl
