[comp.sources.d] Archive Site Storing vxxiyyy???

ray@vantage.UUCP (Ray Liere) (01/04/91)

Does anyone know of an archive site (either anonymous ftp or mail server is
OK) that categorizes comp.sources.misc and comp.sources.unix by vxxiyyy
(ex. v23i020)?

Most archive sites store sources by the actual name of the program being
archived -- i.e., by the "Archive-name:" entry.

This makes it difficult when one knows that one is missing, say v23i020,
but does not know what program name that is.

I know of the sir-alan site, which we have used often in the past ... but
I think they have moved and are off the air -- at least, we can no longer
connect to them ...

Thanks for any help.

Clarification: it is comp.sources.unix that presents the main difficulty for
us, as the indexes for comp.sources.misc do cross-reference names with vxxiyyy.

Thanks.
