[comp.sources.d] What about uutty

darrell@eeocdt.UUCP (Darrell Tschakert) (02/24/91)

Has anyone had any experience with uutty, the uugetty replacement?
How did it work for you?
It compiled without a problem on our NCR 600. I used it briefly
as a replacement for getty on a terminal port. It seemed to work.
But then I got called away before I could test it as a replacement
for uugetty. (ie. Both dial in and dial out on the same port.)
I want to use it to replace the uugetty which doesn't work on our NCR
Tower 600 when the port is used for both dial in and dial out.

Are there any other uugetty replacements available that cost roughly
what the source for uutty costs?

If you have used it (or even if you have used uugetty for dial in/out),
then I would also be interested in knowing:
    1) the dial in/out switch setting for any or all of the following modems
	USR HST
	USR V.32
	Multi Tech 224E5
	Multi Tech 224E7
    2) Dialer entries for the above when used as dial in/out.
    3) The /etc/inittab line using uutty.

Please reply by e-mail. Path address only.
Thanks in advance. This could save me days of work.
