[comp.sources.d] Xtrek - Does it really work?

dbld@oz.plymouth.edu (d^2) (03/21/91)

Okay everyone, we have begun to experiment with our DEC vt1000 and vt1200
X-window terminals here. We grabbed a copy of Xtrek v6.0 from the net, but
have experienced problems getting it to run. First of all, we do not have
the bdftosnf font conversion program. We have bdftopcf and have tried to
use that. When we used topcf on the bdf file, xtrek tried to run but gave
us the error : "Not all fonts available on ###.###.###.###" where ### is
the IP Address of the x-window display.

If we had bdftosnf and converted xtrek.bdf to xtrek.snf, would this clear
up the problem? If that is the solution, could someone tell me where to
get a copy of bdftosnf? If that is not the solution, does anyone have
a probable answer? Is it the fonts in the terminals memory? No one up
here has any idea about x stuff...we are just starting to learn.

Thanks in advance for any help.
