[comp.sources.d] Zsh 2.01 and Ultrix/RISC

Hi,

I tried zsh 2.01 on Ultrix/RISC and it sure looks good. However, a
few problems need attention.

First, when compiling with GCC (1.39 OSF #3), something goes wrong
with the terminal control. It looks like the synchronisation between
zsh and the application program gets lost. In pre-Ultrix4.x, this was
usually caused by not using -ftraditional with GCC, but in Ultrix 4.x
the include files are ANSI-C compliant and -ftradtional cannot be
used anymore.
Compiling with the natice C-compiler results in a program that does
not exhibit this behaviour.

Second, when a process is stopped (using ^Z) and then foregrounded, it
does not respond properly to terminal input. Most notably, things like
int, quit, eof and stop don't get through.
I have seen this behaviour with other shells also, so it may be
something Ultrix specific.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance.

	Johan
