[comp.sources.d] MD4 fails every article

news@fnx.UUCP (News Administrator) (05/27/91)

I built up the md4 stuff that came across the net and tried to apply
it to some of the stuff in the comp.sources.misc group. Every single
article with a X-Md4-Signature header in it failed the test. Anyone
else run into this?

It is computing the MD4 signature based on the assumption that inews
will add your .signature file to the end. There is a flag to turn this
off. But for normal use, compute the signature, append .signature and
then test.

You probably have the BYTEORDER defined backwards in md4.c. Check the
instructions in md4.c and set the #define according to your machine.
