< does he still eat lines ? > Hi, netland, An interesting question just popped up here. Can you run multiple Unix sessions under MS Windows ? Scenario: A PC rund MS Windows. One of the serial lines on the PC goes straight into a /dev/ttyxx on a Unix machine. You want to open a few windows and start talking to your Unix machine (doing different things of course) in each of the windows. As a minimum, you need the mux-demux software on the PC (to talk correctly to each window, flash its icon, direct right output to right one, etc). On the unix machine, you need the equivalent program, that makes the (one) serial line look like N terminals. Sure it's been done before. Question is: is the PC SW available anywhere (PD, freeware, shareware, commercial or whatever). And is the Unix SW available in source form (since I have to recompile it for my machine). Any leads will be appreciated. If you prefer direct e-mail or even the phone, I'll summarize to the net. Gershon Shamay (714) 458-7282 Ext 705 CCI-CPG, Irvine, CA
