Humboldt State University has 25 AST 6 paks installed in a PC lab. All in all, they have performed quite well considering the amount of use the PCs get. A few problems have surfaced and are worth noting here. 1) The documentation we received with the cards was faulty, and when we tried to run more than 1 serial port the jumper information was wrong, once the descrepancy was cleared up it worked fine. 2) We have put quite a bit of memory on the cards and have had trouble with a few as a result. Several have had bad sockets and one or two were bad logic chips. The clocks seem to run fine as long as the batteries are good. The problems have been minimal considering the number of cards in use. The majority of the problems surfaced when upgrading the memory. Good Luck! Dan Calderwood Humboldt State University
