[comp.sys.misc] Information needed about the \"Spectrum\" or \"Spectrum Plus\" computers..

yekta@abbott.caltech.EDU (06/08/87)

Does anyone know what "Spectrum" and "Spectrum Plus" computers are? All I
know about them is that they are either British or German make. Are these
Commodore-64's or Apple-II's in disguise? Please send your replies to
yekta@abbott.caltech.edu . Thank you very much. -- Yekta

These were machines produced by the british firm SINCLAIR (sold to ACORN ?).
The difference between Spectrum and Spectrum+ is the keyboard
i.e. "eraser" vs "real" type keys.
It is a machine using a Z80 running a BASIC interpreter. 16 K ROM
and 48k RAM. It uses a TV set as monitor.
Interfaces : cassette tape for saving and loading programs, and a full
Z80 pin compatible edge connector.

I have been using one for four years now with a lot of pleasure.

No, Amstraad.

If you want more information, subscribe to Computer Shopper. They have a

find useful.
