Does anyone know what "Spectrum" and "Spectrum Plus" computers are? All I know about them is that they are either British or German make. Are these Commodore-64's or Apple-II's in disguise? Please send your replies to yekta@abbott.caltech.edu . Thank you very much. -- Yekta

These were machines produced by the british firm SINCLAIR (sold to ACORN ?). The difference between Spectrum and Spectrum+ is the keyboard i.e. "eraser" vs "real" type keys. It is a machine using a Z80 running a BASIC interpreter. 16 K ROM and 48k RAM. It uses a TV set as monitor. Interfaces : cassette tape for saving and loading programs, and a full Z80 pin compatible edge connector. I have been using one for four years now with a lot of pleasure. { He who does not honor the small is not worth the big ones } Huub van Helvoort

They have a Times/Sinclair Survival Column that Spectrum and other Sinclair users may find useful. -- Tom Frauenhofer ...!seismo!rochester!ur-tut!tfra "The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity." -- Harlan Ellison
