We are looking into replacing our instrumentation computer (an ailing DEC
PDP 11/23-Plus) with either an MSDOS or a Mac II (no flames) system. We
specifically require high speed A/D, D/A and TTL I/O. National Instruments
Co. makes boards that will do A/D, D/A etc. that conforms to the NuBus
standard. I have the following questions?
1. What is the NuBus standard (IEEE-?)
2. Can an add on card generate max. priority interrups (every 20 msec)
to the 68020
on the Mac II motherboard?
3. Is it possible to write interrupt service routines (for a user program)
that coexist with the windowing scheme, et.al. on the Mac II. Do you
need an assembler or can you write it under a high level language?
4. Are there any good C compilers for the Mac II that are fairly bug free?
Thanks for any information,
