Two questions for the readership about WELL: 1) How does one get an account on this service? What are their fees? 2) What extent of network access do folks on the WELL have, ie. can they exchange e-mail with ARPANETers, snarf files using FTP, etc?

Call either the Sausalito line ( 415/332-6106 ) or the Berkeley line ( 415/848-0841 ) with your plastic handy & type newuser at the login: prompt ( 1200,8,N ). Charges are $8/mo + $3/hr of login time + disk storage fees if you use a lot of space on /uh. >2) What extent of network access do folks on the WELL have, ie. can they >exchange e-mail with ARPANETers, snarf files using FTP, etc? lll-lcc.llnl.gov talks to the WELL regularly. I *assume* ftp works as usual -- never tried it. -- Randy futor@lll-lcc.llnl.gov ...well!futor
