I am interested in hearing from individuals who have used, or know people who have used, the relatively new Datavue Snap 1+1 laptop. The Snap is a unique dual system which, when fully configured, weighs about 12 pounds with either adual-floppy drive or one floppy and a 20M hard disk. However, one can detach from this system a separate portable diskless unit of about 4 lbs with either 512 K or 1M. Sounds good in concept. However, reviews I've seen so far have been very mixed. Some have been very superficial, perhaps because the machine is so new. For example, one recent computer mag reviewer didn't seem to realize the SNAP had MS-DOS built in! It would be most interesting to hear from someone who's actually been using a Snap--or had close contact with someone who has. Does this concept turn out to be a daring innovation or just an eccentric, expensive toy? Also, if you haven't had experience with the Snap itself but know of a BBS anywhere oriented toward Datavue products, please let me know. Thanks.
