We are porting our engineering application software to DG/UX on a Data General MV4000 machine. This is the "native" Unix for this machine, unlike MV/UX which is a Unix simulator that runs on top of AOS/VS (the normal OS for the MV4000). We are having a lot of problems with the operating system. We get hardware protection tracebacks running simple shell scripts. Compiling a 100 line source file with the "-g" option (for debugging) takes 35 minutes. And more. Does anyone have experience with this environment? Thanks in advance, Clark Brown
