I'm interested in playing with some of the single chip micros that exist, and am looking for (free or cheap) software to get started with (eg mini-OSes, tiny-basics, micro-forths, cross-assemblers/compilers, and so on. I guess Im interested in any single chip processor - 8752, 8742, 8741, 8051, 68x5, 68x3, etc... Thanks Bill Westfield -------

For any interested parties, the PC-SIG collection of PD/Shareware has a series of cross assemblers for the PC. These were all provided by a company called Pseudocode in Newport News, VA. I believe they have 8051,8048 [PC-SIG disk #777] as well as 6800,6502,z-80, and some others. The xasm's are no-frill and do no macro/conditionals, etc but are shareware with a paltry $30 commercial use registration fee. I have used the 8051 xasm and have been happy with it so far. To get PC-Sig disks, try local large BBS's or you can order direct from the PC-SIG folks at $6.00/disk. X-asm disks: 775: 6800,6805 776: 1802,6502 777: 8748,8751 778: 8085,Z-80 If anyone can shed more light on the enhanced products from Pseudo that were promised in mid/late 87, please let me know. -- Charles Lord Cary, NC cjl@ecsvax.UUCP Usenet cjl@ecsvax.BITNET Bitnet
