I have a friend with an original Tandy 1000 who has run into some snags. If there are any Tandy gurus our there I would appreciate a word on this problem. She's had the Tandy forever and it's worked fine. She needed more RAM and got a PC-flavor Zuckerboard to flesh it out to 640K. It still worked fine. Next she got a hard disk controller card and then the memory was inaccessible after she installed it. Out comes the Zuckerboard, and the hard disk works fine. Unfortunately the real estate in the '1000 won't let her put the memory board electrically closer to the uP and swap the disk to the end of the bus because the hard disk card is too long. So I don't know what to tell her outside of going with a genuine Tandy memory board she can give the Radio Shack guy grief over and let him solve it. She upgraded the BIOS ROMs to make the hard disk happy, but is still left with the memory versus hard disk problem. Any suggestions from the Tandy folks ? rcs
