[We're pretty new to the net, so you may have seen this one before.] I'm thinking about writing a general file maintenance program, but before I do that I thought I'd see if anyone had already done it. What I'm looking for is a program which interactively allows a user to do just about anything to a list of files. The user would be prompted with the name of each file, and then could select any one of several options, such as display the file on the terminal, print the file on the line printer, delete the file, rename the file, etc. Some of these features are already present in other programs (ie. rm -ri to delete files interactively), but I've never seen a program was as general as what I've described. It would seem like such a useful utility [new users would love it!] that surely someone has already written it, but if not I guess that I will do it myself. [This idea is taken from a cpm program called "wash", although I'm sure that it must be in use elsewhere].
