	Standards aren't just "awarded" to someone -- that's silly.
	Besides, even if the Hayes protocol were adopted by some
	committee, that won't make the HSTs quit working, nor will
	it sway the presently installed base.  For example, although
	the Bell-212A is by far the most prolific 1200 bps standard,
	many people still support and use the Racal-Vadic VA3400
	protocol (e.g. Tymnet) which some consider to be better
	error-correction wise -- it may not be a growth market but
	it is still strongly alive out there in the real world.
