For various reasons, I am about to receive an IBM System 36 for use in our personnel department. The system had been used in an RPG programming environment and so will not come with any application programs. Our personnel office has very typical office automation needs. They would like a generic database package, a word processor, a spreadsheet, and electronic mail. I need to find vendors of these products for the S/36. IBM's own offerings, especially in their database package, are not very good. Most critical is finding a good generic 4th generation database package along the lines of Informix, Oracle, or dBase for the S/36. Please send me any information you might have on such typical O/A products for the S/36 or information on vendors of such products. Yeah, I know, I'd rather them have a Unix box too, but the S/36 is free. Electronic mail address and phone and US mail in the .signature Mark E.
