help!!!! does anyone out there in netland know anything at all about the following hardware: PRIAM 14 inch Winchester Disk Drive model DISKOS 3350, and PRIAM SMART Interface ?? a little while back i bought some **OLD** equipment from a friend at work, which included a complete UNIX system III software, which is set up to run off of this particular drive and interface. The problems i am having with these drives (i got 5 of these monsters - god are they ever huge - 2' by 1.5' by 8") include: one cannot get up to speed (motor problem), another has a problem with the second speed of the motor (ya, these drives need to shift into second!) another has a problem called "read loss synchronization", and the last two seem to have there bad sector/track mapping tables full, and will not format anymore. does anyone know where in the southern ontario region where i can get these beasts serviced for a somewhat reasonable price?? or trade these 5 klunkers in for one working unit?? or even a drive/interface combination which will accept the same set of commands as this set?? (anyone from PRIAM on the net??) any info would really be appreciated since i'd love to have my own unix system working at home. thanx ahead of time. -- Ignac A.
