The ISIS project is trying to create a newsgroup called "comp.sys.isis" and has reached the stage of calling for votes. If this interests you and you want to express an opinion (either way) send email to me, ken@cs.cornell.edu. I will tabulate yes and no votes and publish the results in 4 weeks or so. The best messages would be subject-only: COMP.SYS.ISIS -- YES VOTE, or COMP.SYS.ISIS -- NO VOTE For those who missed the original proposal, this group would be moderated by my project and would serve as a forum for exchange of ISIS user-developed software, bug fixes, and general discussion of tightly coupled or fault-tolerant distributed software and protocols. There seems to be sufficient interest among the ISIS users to warrent creation of such a group at this time. ISIS is freely available and the source is in the public domain (subject to some export restrictions imposed by our government...) Thanks for your vote. Ken Birman
