[comp.sys.misc] Call for votes to create a new SYS group: COMP.SYS.ISIS

ken@gvax.cs.cornell.edu (Ken Birman) (03/23/89)

The ISIS project is trying to create a newsgroup called "comp.sys.isis"
and has reached the stage of calling for votes. If this interests you
and you want to express an opinion (either way) send email to me,
ken@cs.cornell.edu. I will tabulate yes and no votes and publish the
results in 4 weeks or so. The best messages would be subject-only:
   COMP.SYS.ISIS -- YES VOTE, or COMP.SYS.ISIS -- NO VOTE

For those who missed the original proposal, this group would be moderated
by my project and would serve as a forum for exchange of ISIS user-developed
software, bug fixes, and general discussion of tightly coupled or
fault-tolerant distributed software and protocols. There seems to
be sufficient interest among the ISIS users to warrent creation of
such a group at this time. ISIS is freely available and the source
is in the public domain (subject to some export restrictions imposed
by our government...)

Thanks for your vote.
