I am interested in the new Brother EP-20 portable electronic typewriter (or "printer," really, since it uses dot matrix). I'm wondering, though, whether it's worth the $180-200 it is currently retailing for around here. It has features I like very much: near-silence, ultra-portability, 16-character memory, and a full array of foreign language and special symbols. It would be almost ideal for use in library research, since one could carry it anywhere and type note cards on it without bothering people. Disadvantages: poor print quality, cartridges which print only 12 pages or so before running out, inability to handle more than one sheet of paper. I have two questions. 1) Are any other companies working on similar typewriters, and is it likely there'll be something better available in the near future? 2) Are prices on this sort of printer likely to come down or remain steady over the next few months? Thanks for any advice you can provide. David Sewell ...sdccsu3!ix900
