I am posting this question for a friend of mine who is in charge of the
Summer Conference coordination and planning program here at Tulane
University. I think that basically what she needs is a scaled-down hotel
reservation-type system. I don't know what monetary constraints she's
under, and the system on which it will run is also in the air right now.
It should, however, probably run on a PC or Mac system, or (last resort)
an IBM mainframe system.
These are her approximate expectations of the system:
* Accounts Payable/Receivable
* Meeting Room Reservations, set-up needs
* Room reservations for approximately 2000 beds
* Conference Services with the following special needs to be recorded
for each type of group:
- food service/catering
- recreational needs
- coffee breaks
- registration services
- maid services
She seems to feel that there are many unversities out there that have summer
conference programs, but she just doesn't know exactly who or where to contact.
Also, she mentioned the name of a system called RESNET, but she's not sure
of the publisher or the distributor. Any info on this would be of help.
