If you can afford a NeXT, and can actually get ahold of one, and some software for it, go for it. However, for that price, I could get 2 Amiga 2500's, (68020/881) and have money left to fill them up with some nice software. (Of course, if you can afford a NeXT, slip $1000 onto the bill and get an Amiga with it) When Mac II's were announced, everyone here started ordering them. When NeXT's were announced, everyone started ordering them. Same with DECstation 3100's. Now we have Mac II's used for MacDraw and DECstations sitting around. Sounds like status symbols to me...
