[comp.sys.misc] BCC180 - single board computer

paulc@boulder.Colorado.EDU (Paul Connally) (07/07/89)

Has anybody ever used a BCC180 computer? It's made by Micromint
or CCI, uses a Hitachi HD64180 CPU, has a Z80 compatible instruction
set, and an EPROM programmer board that can be added. It runs BASIC-180
that is ROMable (code can be compiled/saved to ROM/EPROM).

It has 4 sockets for either 32K static RAM(62256) or EPROM (27256)
and a SIMM socket for a 256K DRAM. The BASIC-180 ROM chip takes one socket
and is 16K big. My question is this....

If I develop a program on the fly, then save it to RAM, if it
fills more than 32K can I copy RAM using the EPROM programmer and the ROM
monitor to two or more consecutive EPROMS then replace the BASIC-180 and
monitor ROMs with them for auto-start of the program on reset?

If there is a better newsgroup for this question could you
direct me to it? I haven't found any groups concerning single board
computers or Z80's yet.

				TIA,
