[comp.sys.misc] Building the Perfect

icsu8209@caesar.cs.montana.edu (Glassy) (02/08/90)

I'd like to build a small computer system using a Z80. Can anyone recommend
a good book about doing this?

(yes, i know building systems is non-trivial, but this is something i've
wanted to do since about the age of four...)

In terms of capability, what I'd like to end up with is a little beast with
64k of ram, a tape-drive(cassette?) for magnetic storage, standard keybd and
screen for i/o, and (someday) CP/M for an OS ( to start with ).

I'm not shooting for a fire-breathing desktop version of the CRAY-5, just
a little monster that I can know from the guts up...

thanks.
