I recently purchased an AT&T 6312 motherboard and am trying to install it in a Xerox 6070 (AT&T 6310/Olivette(sp?) ) computer. Other than the fact that that certain cpu related chips are -12s and that the 1 meg of memory is not socketed, the boards look identical. I bought the board as is, so I do not know if it works or not. Symptoms follow: 1) no video - screen has raster. Computer equipped with color monitor, indigenous video board and a Display Enhancement board (DEB) 2) LEDs on mother board indicate error 6B. 3) computer does not boot (of course). Questions: 1) Are the bus board and the indigenous video board the same for the 6310 and the 6312 computers ? 2) Should I be able to exchange just motherboards for a 6310 to 6312 upgrade? 2) What does error "6B" on the LEDs mean ? 3) Any constructive suggestions ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -- Frederic J. Loden NEC America, Inc.
