[comp.sys.nsc.32k] New NSC32000 based CPU using DEC Qbus

don@grc.UUCP (02/24/87)

General Robotics Corp. offers Qbus based UNIX CPU

GRC manufactures a CPU based on the NSC32000 series. There are
two entries, a 32016 based CPU and one using the 32032. Both
operate on the DEC Qbus and use standard Qbus peripherals
including those provided by DEC, Emulex, Dilog, and GRC.

The 32032 based product is called the Python/32T and uses the NSC
CPU, MMU, TCU, ICU, and FPU at 12.5Mhz. Up to 16 megabytes of
parity memory may be used in increments of 4 MB. Software is
SysVr2. A PMI memory bus is used for CPU fetches that are
interleaved with Qbus DMA and memory refreshes so as to eliminate
most collisions. The Qbus is used strictly for I/O and is capable
         or block mode DMA.

The 32016 based product is called the Python Jr. and runs with
the CPU, MMU, TCU, ICU, and FPU at 10Mhz. It is available with
1MB, 2MB, or 4MB of parity RAM. Software is SysVr2. The Qbus is
used for blockmoe DMA as above.

A typical system configuration of the Python/32T is:

               Python/32T CPU as above
               8 Megabytes RAM
               470 Megabyte SMD Disk Drive
               32 Port Communications Mux
               100 Megabyte QIC-02 1/4" Cartridge Tape Drive
               UNIX System V Release 2

Many other configurations are possible using standard DEC
         compatible Qbus peripheral controllers. Contact:
