National does make CMOS 32016 parts. The CPU is currently available at 10MHz (and "real soon now" at 15MHz). The TCU is available at both 10 and 15MHz as it is used to clock the faster 32332. We are currently designing a file system processor around the 32016-10 part. There is not, to my knowledge, a CMOS ICU available (perhaps use discrete components?). The ICU is listed in the data book as being available at 6, 10, and 15MHz but who knows. All we have are 6MHz ICU's lying around. All of the above mentioned parts are spec'ed in the 32000 data book. The 32C016 is listed as drawing an "active supply current" of 70mA while the non-CMOS part draws 200mA typical (up to 300 max). The 32C201 is listed as drawing 100mA typical and 12011mA max. (obviously a typo. in the data book, so you can try to figure it out). The 32201 is listed as drawing 180mA typical and 260mA max. I am not surprised that you have had so much difficulty getting data. I requested 4 times from the local office with no response. I finally had it shipped from the main office in Santa Clara (408) 721-5000. Actually the local office has been VERY helpful of late. Perhaps there data books where just back-ordered. I know that National is putting out a new set of data books due to the merger with Fairchild. Good luck. ------------ Bryan Davis (BCD@PSUECL) Engineering Computer Laboratory Pennsylvania State University
