[comp.sys.nsc.32k] looking for a 32000 assembler ...

bcd@psueclb.BITNET (11/25/87)

unfortunately I don't think that there are any public domain assemblers for
the 32000. several years ago we bought a development package from national
(in the days of the 16032 ...) that included a multibus board, assembler,
linker, and debugger all for the vax (vms). it seems to work alright but
was about $1000 (after the substantial educational discount). I am very
interested in porting gcc to the 32000 family but I am unfamiliar with
RTL and really wouldn't know where to begin. has anyone done this already?
if not, I would be willing to help out if others were interested. we have
a copy if gcc on a harris hcx-7 unix system here.
