[comp.sys.nsc.32k] Interrupts and the CMOS 32K

peter@gen1.UUCP (Peter CAMILLERI) (12/30/87)

I would first like to thank all those who helped me obtain data on
CMOS versions of the 32k. I've submitted my proposal and it seems that
with a little urging on, I should be be able to avoid having to use an
8008 derived cpu in this project. ( and hopefully future ones too ).

However a few points have come up.

What are the timings for the various sorts of interrupts?
      NMI ? Non Vectored ? Vectored ? Cascaded ?
I can't seem to be able to locate these stastics.

Secondly, while the cpu and tcu parts are great, the icu leaves a great deal
to be desired. Its slow and draws a lot of current. I have therefore decided
to build my own icu using a cmos pal and 2 HC jelly bean chips, in
conjunction with peripherals that generate thier own vector. The question I
have is, What prevents me from using a RTT instruction instead of an RTI
instruction? My icu design has no internal state that nedds to be reset, and
niether do the Z85xx periperals I am using.

As always, any help would be most apreciated.
