[comp.sys.nsc.32k] Small 32K idea

Don_A_Corbitt@cup.portal.com (11/28/88)

I'm (slowly) building a 32016 design kit. I'd like to support someone
interested in a PC board, for plugging in a PC (PC^2 ?).

The features I'd like include using the full chipset (including MMU),
using SIMMs with 256k or 1Mb chips (allow 512KB to 8MB RAM), and
letting the RAM be configured as EMS ram that the PC can use when the
32K isn't using it. I'm a software type, and would be glad to spec the
required hardware (4 9-bit latches, and some decoding) and write the
software. I have designed hardware in the past (and actually seen it
shipped), and have written several EMS 3.2 drivers.

I think that letting the RAM be dual-purpose will help justify PC owners
buying a lot of it. I can use it for RAM disks, etc in my PC software,
or use it for the 32K system, or any mix.

I'd be happy to work on the PC software (such as communications, drivers,
etc) as time permits. I have done similar work on other co-processor
systems. Does this sound interesting to other 'small' users?
