[comp.sys.nsc.32k] Mailings

des@musashi.wpd.sgi.com (Des Young) (05/02/90)

Hi,
since we aim to distribute mailings, I suggest we learn from
some others doing the same thing.
As with the previous posting, we need to send it uuencoded. I suggest
we do the following:
	1. tar or shar associated mailings
	2. compress the result - USING 12 BIT COMPRESSION
	3. uuencode that result
	4. post, along with its "crc"

Using 12 bit compression allows decompression on any machine (even
a PC :-(
Sending all file crc's will ensure we all have a common base for
upgrages (patches).
To start the ball rolling, I will mail the crc program from MINIX. It
compiles ok on Silicon Graphics' workstations, Sun's, and others I
presume.
Cheers, Des.
