[It seems that it didn't make it around the world, so I retry - nf] Hi Gyus, I vaguely remember a SCSI-based frame buffer for the Mac (8 and/or 24-bit) with rather high resolution, about 1K*1K (I posted to the Mac hardware newsgroup: they know much better than me what I'm referring) Could it be a good and economical idea (read: ready hardware) to use this peripheral to the pc532 project and for the Amigas? (or, even better, for any SCSI-equipped machine) What's needed for such a beast to cooperate with a machine different than the Mac? (I would like to get any of these i860-based frame buffers, but $$ are a BIG problem for students like us) Possible uses: Generic frame buffer (high resolution, full color) - good for BRL-CAD, Movie.BYU etc. Hardware for use of a generic X Window environment (no flames or holy wars, please, for crossposting to these newsgroups) Please respond by mail, and I'll summarize to the posted newsgroups. (follow-ups to the Amiga hardware - or the NS 32k - newsgroups, please) Have a nice day, Nick. ---- -- Nikolaos Fotis E-mail: 16 Esperidon St., UUCP: mcsun!ariadne!theseas!nfotis Halandri, GR - 152 32 InterNet: nfotis@theseas.ntua.gr Athens, GREECE
