Hello, Since I have been using minix, I decided to get mg2a working on minix. It is a "more powerful" emacs like editor than the uemacs that Bruce distributed with minix. I have used it for quite a while now and thought that others might like to use it. Some of the features that I don't think that uemacs has are: startup file (execute "lisp" code), backup file, and ^z starts a shell from mg. My additions to mg2a are available via anonymous ftp from willow.cs.wwu.edu. (We are currently changing to sub-domains so you may need to try willow.wwu.edu. IP addr 140.160.140.153.) The changes are in the directory minix532. If you want the full distribution of mg2a, you can get it from willow or from uunet.uu.net in the comp.sources.unix archives. Also, for those who want source to Bruce's version of uemacs, it is located in the same directory. It is our intention to make willow a west coast (US) archive site for minix532 related sources. (As long as we have spare disk... We plan to store a lot of the stuff anyway, so why not share :-) We will not make available full source for minix, but will try to collect as much full source for PD and free software that has been ported to minix532 (like mg2a). You will still have to get your original copy of minix from Bruce. --Phil
