Hi all! Now that I have cpu chip set, I need to fill in all of the other empty sockets on my board. I have found sources for the SCSI chips, but they have a $100 minimum order. Each of the AIC6250's goes for about $35 dollars and I don't really need three of them. If anybody is interested in pooling together to get these, let me know. Same goes for the DP8490--these come from another distributor for ~$8 but again we have this nice $100 minimum order. If somebody has found a different source for these (and some of the other hard-to-find chips) without these minimums please let me know. Alvin Jee alvin@spica.ucsc.edu

Each of the AIC6250's goes for I recommend that you ensure that you order and get AIC6250EL - E revision. If they have an even more recent rev then go for that. Dave & I never could get the earlier rev, D rev, to transfer data reliably, and Adaptec was less than willing to help - we'll never use them again... best regards, -- George Scolaro george@wombat.bungi.com [37 20 51 N / 122 03 07 W]
