No wrong, unfortunately. The design is done and the board routed, but no PCB
has been made as of yet. We haven't done a run since the number of people
indicating they were serious about one was pretty small (less than 5), so we
have been waiting for more people. A run of 5 - 10 boards would come to
around $350 a piece - too rich! We would like to do a minimum of 20 (to lower
the NRE - i.e. setup and test fixture charges). So, if any of you serious
want it now and would commit to one or more then send me email "direct" and
I will tally you up. Of course being close to xmas means a lot of us wont be
up to our eyes in cash :-(

Just to remind you what the ET532 is:

Plug in card for the PC532 with SCSI connector in addition to edge connector.
This means it could be used with other SCSI systems, it also has a standalone
power connector (PC floppy/harddisk style).

32GX32-20 CPU (no FPU).
1 or 4 Megabytes of DRAM utilizing fast page mode (similar to PC532), but
using DIPs.
1 Boot EPROM
1 Ethernet interface, both Cheapernet (10BASE2) and Thick (10Base5).
2 8 Channel Octarts - 16 serial channels. Requires daughterboard for RS232
drivers. These channels have full modem control (as per PC532).
DP8490 SCSI interface to header and edge connector.

With a 32532 instead of the 32GX32 this board could also run Minix... A
cheaper PC532...

best regards,

Hi,

I seem to recall that the ETH532 board was finished and that several
boards had been produced. Has anyone (besides Dave and George) ordered
one and gotten it working?

Have either Dave or George (Hi guys) developed any software for the
ones they do have running? Used it under Minix perhaps? Mounted NFS
file systems from it? :-). Ok, ok.. I know.. Next week.

Anyway, what's the current scoop on this baby?

And how are the guys from Finland making out with their i860 board?

So how hard would it be to retrofit a 532 into the ETH board?

Remove the NS32GX32 and insert the NS32532U.

No other changes are required.
