[comp.sys.nsc.32k] GNU binaries available at nic.funet.fi

jkp@sauna.hut.fi (Jyrki Kuoppala) (02/09/91)

I suppose no one is interested in this now when Mach 3.0 is out ;-),
but here goes anyway.

To make bootstrapping the GNU tools easier I'll take a backup of the
important stuff on my pc532 to nic.funet.fi and make it available for
anonymus ftp (or pseudo-anonymoys ftp for the parts covered by Minix
copyright so they are only available for those who have Minix).

The stuff will be at nic.funet.fi:pub/misc/pc532/jkp-backups. Only
the README file is there now but I have the files made and only need
to transfer them to nic.

Here's the README file:

This directory contains some backups from jkp@cs.hut.fi's pc532
system, taken on 8th February 1991. The contents of the tars are:

Dirs /usr/diffs for diffs to various GNU and other free software
distributions needed to make to get them compile under my system.
Also diffs for my minix kernel against the one in Bruce distribution
(/usr/minixdiffs).

The ChangeLog and some other doc files for my system - can be useful
to track down bugs etc. Especially the libraries stuff are quite a
mess with different stdio libraries.

The source to the GNU programs are available ie. at prep.ai.mit.edu
and nic.funet.fi. Please note that the library as it's in the backup
contains some GNU code in it so if you distribute binaries compiled
with the library you must respect the GPL restrictions.

Finally, these are only my backup files so it might not be very useful
to redistribute them to other ftp sites. And the ports probably
contain googols of bugs as well, but they've been useful to me.
