[ Bruce's outline of a non-blocking FS deleted ]

A long time ago I received the diffs for a threaded FS from:

   Andre' Luis Porto Castro <pede@cunhan.inf.ufrgs.anrs.br>
   Rua Santa Cecilia 2291 <pede@sbu.ufrgs.anrs.br>
   90410 - Porto Alegre - RS
   BRAZIL

The diffs where relative to Minix 1.1.

The implementation is very straight forward and in many respects is
quite similar to the approach outlined by Bruce. Also I should note
that the implementation is written in a manner which results in
amazingly little change to the stock FS.

Well anyway, I did a very quick port to Minix 1.5h and it appears to run
without a hitch (but I also have very little milage on it). My intention
was to clean-up the port and then post it to the group. However, at the
rate I am going this may take a very long time (too many irons in the fire).
Therefore, if someone would sincerely like to finish / polish this package for
general distribution, I would please to provide the ver 1.5h diffs.

BTW, the implementation is sufficently general that the same approach
could also be applied to other tasks such as device drivers and MM.

Best regards,
johnc
