[comp.sys.ti] model 771 inteligent terminal

leach@mist.cs.orst.edu (Tom Leach) (01/01/88)

have an old TI model 771 Inteligent Terminal and was wondering if anyone
has any info about it. I have called TI but they say that it's too old to
get manuals for. Here's what info I have...

       Terminal:
TI 9009 uprocessor (maybe 9900, can't remember for sure)
	 64k ram
	 large (~82 connector) bus
monitor built on top of CPU case
punchouts for thermal printer and 2 micro tape drives

       Disk drives:
	 2 8" shuguart 800's (actually 801's) SSSD

I also have a TI model 800 printer but I got the docs for that.

What I need is info about the disk drive interface and a tech manual for the
system in general, (ie, bus connections, operating system, etc).
I also have the shuguart manual so I just need info about the cards.
The entire CPU is card based. It has a card cage with various things plugged
into it. The cards look similar to S-100 but with fewer connectors.

I am mostly just curious if this machine can be used for anything anymore.
I am a decent hardware and software hack and am curious as to what I can
make this puppy do.

Thanks for any info...
