There are (apparently) lots of people at least READING this group who do and several who post. we've even managed to move some binary traffic recently. By the way, for ALL who read, I present the following from Disk Only Software, a company dealing in TI and Geneve hard/software. As background, they had been taking orders for the Myarc Hard/Floppy Disk Controller for ~$185. Orders which had been held pending receipt of more cards from Myarc. MYARC says the price was ONLY a show price, not meant to be offered through other vendors, just from Myarc themselves at various TI-Fairs. Of course, they didn't say this till just a few weeks ago, FOUR MONTHS after Disk Only Software announced they were selling the cards at this price. Here's the announcement. Subject: HFDC ORDERS CANCELLED From: Jeff Guide To: ALL Disk Only Software and TI NET Product Services will be returning all Myarc HFDC orders during the next week. Myarc has given us excuses and refused to even call Jim Horn concerning the cards. Since Lou isn't interested in supporting the community with the HFDC or honoring his previous price to us, I have no other alternative then to return the card orders. All TI NET Product Service orders and orders mailed to the Lorton, VA P.O. box have already been sent in the mail. All orders from Shows and sent to the Rockville, MD address will be returned in the next week. We are sorry this had to occur, but after their initial shipment back in March to us, we keep getting stalled. Frankly, it is all beyond our control. I do encourage you to leave MYARC a message here (NOT in this newsgroup, try Delphi) so it can be sent to Lou, write them a letter or call directly. Thanks for your support. Maybe this will send Myarc a message to get their act together. Jeff Guide The reaction to the above has been LOUD on Delphi where it was announced. As it turns out, DOS had been trying to get ahold of Lou and or Jack at Myarc to determine order status. They left messages TELLING them they would have to cancel if no orders could be filled soon. Nobody from Myarc called them back........ at all........ ever. I'll dig out Myarc address if anyone wants to write and express displeasure but best send it Registered, Restricted delivery for Lou Phillips or he may never see it. If Myarc dies, it'll be ruled suicide and Lou's fingerprints will be all over the instrument of death. Just my opinion of course. *>> Dave <<* [------: Dave Ratcliffe :--------:-: 2832 Croyden Rd. Dave Ratcliffe and I are still here with both 9640's and 99/4A's. There has been a little traffic on this newsgroup lately, but not nearly as much as I would like. It is about time I called your BBS again. Hope my password is still valid. -- Dave Hultberg KA3UZR Mail: 1407 Concord Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-1955 daveh@compnect.uucp H: 717-766-0051 CI$: 72437,3215 uunet!wa3wbu!compnect!daveh W: 717-790-4507 Fido: 1:270/101.28 compnect!daveh@uunet.UU.NET FAX: 717-790-3689 Packet: KA3UZR@WB3EAH.PA.USA.NA
