Fresh from the Omaha TI-99 UG comes word that McCann Software is closing up. The primary reason cited by Mike McCann was the lack of CORRECT and timely information from Myarc regarding MDOS. Mike has produced several EXCELLENT programs for the Geneve, mainly The Printers Apprentice. He has found it nearly impossible to get correct information from Myarc so he could fix bugs that pop up every time Myarc changes their constantly changing OS (MDOS). Another programmer is lost because of Myarcs nearly suicidal behaviour. Lou recently turned down an offer to appear in a conference on Delphi at a time and date of his choosing. He said he was too busy. Thanks Lou. Mike is selling his Geneve but will continue to sell TPA4MDOS but orders will have to go to his home address ($29.95, McCann Software, 4411 N. 93rd St., Omaha NE. 68134) According to Mike, this latest developement came from a problem with TPA and printing under .97h and 1.14f. There IS a fix now, no thanks to Myarc and, sad to say, even Paul C. If you have TPA and want to use it with the previously mentioned versions of MDOS, here's the patch: In file TPC, find the hex string 2A6C 1F00 2A88 and replace it with: 2A6C 9F80 2A88 The printer should now work. This patch sets bit 7 of status byte in the PAB to 1, instead of the 0 that worked fine in earlier versions of MDOS. Seems they changed it in .97h. Once again, Myarc changes the programming rules and fails to tell ANYONE, least of all those few who WANTED to program for this computer. Now there's one less. Pity.... *>> Dave <<* [------: Dave Ratcliffe :----------: 2832 Croyden Rd.
