What a delight it was to run across some TI-99/4Aers!!!!

In response to several messages posted here, the TI-99/4A is STILL
alive and doing well.

One messages asks if there are any "hobbyist" applications using the
TI-994A. The answer is yes, there are a multitude of articles written on
using the TI-994A. You need to contact a local TI Users Group. There
are quite large number still going strong. Check the latest issue of
"Computer Shopper." It regularly lists BBSs for many different computer
systems. There is probably a user group close to you.

And yes to the person asking if there are any companies still supporting
this computer. You also should contact a local user's group.

And as to the question of the current going rate for a TI, I would also
recommend that you consult a users group.

And for all of you TIers, there is a the Annual TI faire in Chicago.
I do not have the specifics, but will post them as soon as I get them.
The faire is usually quite a huge event, with hundreds of attendees and
just as many people selling software and hardware. There is still a vast
number of users, and support groups. The only thing I am positive of is
that the Faire is the weekend of November 2-4th.

Hope to see you there!

A little while back, someone asked for a hardware/software dealer for
the TI-99/4A. The major dealer is:

  TEX-COMP
  P.O. Box 33084
  Grenada Hills, CA 91344

They generally want some money for a catalog ($2-3$, I don't remember for
certain). There are other dealers, but they are generally much smaller.

If you are truly interested in the "TI world", you should subscribe to

  MICROpendium
  P.O. Box 1343
  Round Rock, Texas 78680

This is a monthly magazine full of TI/Geneve information including HW/SW
reviews, programming columns (BASIC/Assembly/C), and adds.
A years subscription is $25 for the U.S.A., $30.25 for Mexico, $32.50 for
Canada, $30.00 elsewhere for surface mail, and $42.00 for elsewhere via air
mail. All prices are in U.S. dollars.
