I posted an article recently saying that I had a termcap and BASIC program for the PR connection. I got a lot of response to that then realized that I had been a little misleading. First, it should not be restricted to PR owners, as I know of no reason why it shouldn't work woth the 850 also, since the PR-connection is supposed to behave like the 850. To be specific, here is a fuller des- cription of the stuff I wrote. It is a termcap that has parameters for all the stuff needed for vi, and talk, and stuff like that so the atari acts like a real terminal (with 40 cols.). The BASIC program is not fancy, but good enough for a starter. It dials ( but my modem is not HAYES-compatible, so the program could easily be simp- lified for HAYES) and it captures and sends files, but mostly it just acts like a terminal. Chances are you are only interested in using the termcap and the few routines in the BASIC program associated with that so vi can behave properly on your old friend 800.
