The compiler and runtime system programs posted to the net may not work. I have not been able to make them work using the VAX Uudecoder and downloading with kermit. I assume the VAX uudecode program is working correctly, and it produces an object file that begins "01FEFFFF", not a promising omen if it is to be a load module. I get the same thing when I download it. I have not tried my own uudecode, but I assume it will agree with the VAX. Howard Chu will look into it on his end, but meanwhile don't be surprised if you are told "Bad Load File" when you try to run the compiler or runtime module. Also, I seem to have given bad information in a previous posting re: Magic. It's not a compiled file, just a saved BASIC file. And yes, MAGIC.OBJ is a file of machine code subroutines, and must be named MAGIC.OBJ. -- Howard Chu hyc@umix.cc.umich.edu ------- End of Forwarded Message
