i have tried out the uuencode on our unix system here, and it does indeed put spaces into the uuencoded lines... this makes sense, anything else wouldn't be compatible across machines... somebody had mentioned that a turbo basic uuencode program on the ibm pc put something else in place of spaces (i believe it is a grave accent)... that's (i'm sorry, i meant turbo pascal), turbo pascal & ibm for ya... leaders in screwing up sensible standards for years... -- Brad Banko ...!decvax!cwruecmp!ncoast!btb Cleveland, Ohio "The only thing we have to fear on this planet is man." -- Carl Jung, 1875-1961
