[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Model railroading; autorun files

abrams@MITRE.ARPA.UUCP (02/28/87)

Here's one more model railroader who also is into Atari. But I'm afraid
that I'm not very interested in programming the train order system you
mention. I did program a big system on the Atari, namely The Print
Tool (RUNOFF), and haven't been too interested in any programming
since. However if you have a problem, I'd be happy to discuss it.
Also, my equipment is not the newest -- I'm running a 400 with 48K and
a detached keyboard.

Concerning AUTORUN, let me make two observations. I have a program
which patched DOS 2.0 to change the name of the AUTORUN file. I have
no idea if it will work with DOS 2.5. DOS-XL does have an ability to
run a COM file upon bootup. I don't remember the details; I used
DOS-XL for a while, but reverted to Atari DOS.

Sincerely,
